Do you love the idea of optimizing production lines for some of the world’s most beloved snacks? PepsiCo is looking for an Automation Specialist to drive innovation and efficiency at our cutting-edge snack plant!

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for governing the specifications for OT hardware, software, and network infrastructure of the site control system, and ensuring compliance with all cybersecurity policies (Scada, Siemens, Studio 5000). Implementation of technical productivity initiatives related to control systems;
  • Provides technical leadership and coordinates the implementation of major site projects;
  • Plans system improvements and updates to maintain investments, increase efficiency, and ensure the lowest total cost of ownership;
  • Builds the site’s capability to support and sustain critical systems and provides technical support resources as needed;
  • Manages relationships with suppliers and external systems partners to deliver performance and cost improvements;
  • Proposes the budget based on the maintenance plan;
  • Organizes and coordinates daily electrical and automation tasks according to established procedures (backs up programs, troubleshooting, etc.); In the absence of the direct supervisor, performs emergency repairs at the request of the shift leader or operators on the production lines to avoid any workplace accidents and damage to equipment and products;
  • Proposes and executes short-term and long-term maintenance plans, including preventive maintenance and repairs, in collaboration with supervisors and colleagues, addressing technical issues and requirements, as well as the production schedule;
  • Locates, diagnoses, and repairs faults in electronic/electrical equipment and systems, which may involve complex circuits as well as software programs, according to the manufacturer's specifications;
  • Ensures that machines and working equipment are utilized at maximum capacity and in accordance with safety and quality requirements, ensuring that production is continuous and minimally interrupted by damage.

Qualifications

  • University degree in automation or electronics;
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar position and activity;
  • Comprehensive experience with PLC, SCADA systems, and a strong knowledge base;
  • Knowledge of networks, servers, and Microsoft operating systems;
  • Extensive knowledge of production systems, processes, and applications;
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and facilitation skills;
  • Ability to collaborate and align teams behind common goals;
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills to drive continuous improvement projects;
  • Excellent problem-solving and process optimization skills.

Location & work schedule

  • Location based: PepsiCo Snacks Plant - Popești-Leordeni;
  • The work schedule is in shifts (06:00-14:00; 14:00-22:00; 22:00-06:00), 5 working days with 2 days off.
