Main Purpose of the Job

  • Diesel fuel injection equipment (FIE) systems support for EU Diesel customers.

Main Tasks of the Job

  • Responsibility for the assigned aspects of the Diesel FIE System (specific tasks assigned to an individual will depend on level of experience & knowledge);
  • Responsibility includes discussion with the customer (e.g. component application explanation), system analysis (e.g. system specification, pump capacity), calibration (e.g. rail pressure control, injector characterisation), pre-development (e.g. control system development, engine demonstration projects);
  • In this role you will experience customer project management, simulation and testing. It will be necessary to manage the customer/supplier relationship during their engine development (including new business acquisition), input into change point analysis to determine necessary validation, collaborate with internal DENSO colleagues to make judgements on customer validation and take responsibility to create material to show why we have confidence to release parts to production;
  • Responsible for managing assigned tasks within the DENSO production development workflow process and delivering tasks to the agreed milestones to support overall project targets;
  • DENSO is looking for an engineer with good theoretical knowledge and relevant Diesel experience, ideally with experience dealing with customers.

Personnel: Will be working within the Powertrain Components & Systems Department reporting to an (Assistant) Manager.

Resources: Will need to manage own work schedule & tasks to the right quality based on assignments from Manager.

Planning: Needs to be able to prioritise activity and be flexible in approach making sure that all activity is aligned to the higher-level purpose.

Decisions: Needs to be able to deliver required work, determined through alignment with team leader, with the minimum of input (good ownership). Needs to be proactive in reporting, exhibiting good communication to demonstrate alignment.

Supervision

Will be working within the Powertrain Components & Systems Department reporting to an (Assistant) Manager.

Contacts

Working with Engineering Colleagues within DNUK Powertrain, as well as Technical Staff in Facilities & Testing. Depending on assigned activities may also liaise with other DENSO EU Office, DENSO Japan and Customers.

Qualifications

  • Good Degree or Equivalent (2:1 or higher in Mechanical, Automotive or Electronics Engineering).
