Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage an IC design team in the IoT RF IC design group;
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership and training for design staff;
  • Lead the design team through the product development cycle including feasibility studies, specifications, competitive analysis, technical choices, design, integration, validation, verification, and production test;
  • Contribute to define design approaches and flow for design team;
  • Attend reviews to help guarantee high quality designs and effective reviews;
  • Oversee evaluation of design results by laboratory measurements to assure technical and performance objectives are met;
  • Collaborate with worldwide Design, Marketing, Validation and PTE teams throughout the design life cycle;
  • Recruit, select, develop, and motivate the best engineers to ensure the efficient operation of the function;
  • Function as an advisor to the team to meet schedules and resolve technical problems.

Qualifications:

  • Direct experience designing and bringing into mass production analog circuits;
  • Advanced understanding of system specification and ability to work withsystem/application engineers to translate system requirements into circuit requirements at the IC level;
  • Advanced understanding of design tradeoffs for performance, power and area optimization;
  • Prior experience designing RF blocks such as: LNAs, mixers, PAs, RF frequency synthesizers (PLLs), baseband amplifiers, and data converters;
  • Knowledge of signals, systems, and transforms;
  • Knowledge of calibration circuits for compensating process/voltage/temperature variations;
  • Solid experience in silicon characterization and debug;
  • Proficiency in Cadence Design Environment for Analog, Mixed-Signal and RF designs (Cadence Analog Design Environment, Cadence Virtuoso, SpectreRF, EMX, AFS etc.);
  • Prior Experience in silicon bring-up, lab measurements and characterization using digital, analog and RF test-equipment;
  • MS, MSc in Electrical Engineering and 5 or more years of design experience;
  • An advanced degree may reduce the minimum experience required;
  • 3 or more years of experience leading teams or project development in the area of RF or analog IC design;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (Fluent English);
  • Scripting in Python, Skill, Ocean, Perl, Unix Shell, etc. is a plus;
  • Experience with Matlab or other high-level modeling language/tool for designing and evaluating communication systems and algorithms is a plus.
