THE ROLE
We are looking for a Laboratory Engineer to oversee the daily operations of the laboratory, including the development and execution of complex laboratory requirements such as procurement and installation of new equipment, upgrade of or establish new facilities, and processes to support daily operations and safety. In this role you will also be responsible for facility management including day-to-day office and facility management activities (e.g., hands on assistance re-arranging office space, coordinating with facility owners when needed, providing access cards, responding to alarms, fire/emergency equipment and testing, ensure office waste handling, etc.). This position requires both a flair for organization and documentation but also hands on assistance to make daily laboratory work progress.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES & TASKS
- Oversee the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.
- Procure, install, and commission laboratory equipment and experimental setups.
- Maintain laboratory equipment (preventive and corrective), troubleshoot, coordinate repairs and calibrations while minimizing downtime.
- Be the main point of contact for office matters.
- Plan, coordinate, and manage laboratory and office upgrades, renovations, and expansions, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget.
- Enforce laboratory safety.
PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES
- You hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent.
- You have 7+ years of industrial experience.
- You have experience working in a regulated laboratory or industry (e.g. biological hazards, clean room) as well as knowledge of Danish regulations on laboratory work (e.g., Arbejdstilsynet).
- You have experience with ventilation systems and gas detectors, procurement systems, electrical systems, vacuum systems, and high-temperature systems.
- Experience with ATEX and gas regulations is preferred.
- Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) or other relevant GXP certification is preferred.
