Your role

Cell Design Engineer is responsible for contributing to the electrochemical design of lithium-ion battery cells for various applications. This position plays a vital role in supporting the Cell Design Manager in all aspects of cell design, from concept development to qualification, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and company objectives.

Main functions

Project Support and Execution:

  • Assist in the development and execution of test plans to evaluate the electrochemical performance of cell designs, working closely with the Testing Team to generate qualification data;
  • Participate in investigations to address cell design-related issues, providing technical input and implementing corrective actions as required;
  • Support intellectual property development initiatives to protect Basquevolt's competitive position in the market.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with suppliers, Operations Team, R&D, and other stakeholders to support the development of innovative cell chemistries that meet project objectives;
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of cell designs into product development processes;
  • Provide technical support and expertise as needed during customer-related meetings and discussions.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

  • Assist in ensuring compliance with applicable test equipment, procedures, international standards, and certified agency requirements for lithium-ion battery cells;
  • Contribute to the application of quality tools to production processes, including statistical analysis of performance results, process capabilities, and design of experiments;
  • Support the implementation of quality control measures to maintain high standards of cell design and manufacturing.

Requirements

Cell Design Engineer must have proven track-record 4 years of experience in electrochemical cell design.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred;
  • In-depth knowledge of functional safety, cell chemistry, and mechanical development, with experience in battery system design preferred;
  • Proficiency in electrode preparation process, cell assembly, and electrochemical performance evaluation;
  • Fluent in English.
