Purpose of the position:
The Technical Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing technical issues at Wizz Air Group AOCs related to Cabin Product. This includes liaising with Airbus and other departments to ensure compliance, optimize performance, and maintain high-quality standards in cabin-related operations and equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee technical issues at Wizz Air Group AOCs regarding Cabin Product and liaise with Airbus where necessary.
- Cooperate in the development of other flight documentation upon request of Wizz Air Group AOCs.
- Provide operational-technical advice to other departments within Wizz Air Group regarding cabin operation, Cabin Product, equipment, and systems.
- Provide support, guidance, and supervision to the Cabin Crew Technical Senior Cabin Attendant at Wizz Air Group AOCs.
- Provide support, guidance, and supervision to the Cabin Crew Technical Team Observers at Wizz Air Group AOCs.
- Communicate supplementary technical information with operational relevance.
- Coordinate with Training Departments of Wizz Air Group AOCs on training materials updates.
- Perform various aircraft delivery tasks and company A/C interior checks, and prepare documentation regarding cabin interior and emergency equipment configuration.
- Review and evaluate Cabin Product OEMs performance (reliability, durability expectations), warranties, and support.
- Review support programs and product support standards for Cabin Product vendors.
- Provide specialist input into vendor selection during development of Head of Version (HoV) within new fleet customization.
- Cooperate with the Fleet Acquisition department to negotiate with Cabin Product vendors regarding preferred equipment, pricing, warranties, etc.
- Research and involve Technical Services and Wizz Air Group AOCs Flight Operations/Cabin Operations Departments in the introduction of emerging technology providing safety, operational, and cost benefits to Wizz Air.
- Liaise with Wizz Air Group AOCs Engineering on the specification of Cabin Product and systems, Cabin Modifications, Airworthiness directives, and Service Bulletins.
- Provide support for incident and accident investigations.
- Provide recommendations to Policy and Standards Managers, Cabin Crew Training Managers, OPS Compliance Manager of Wizz Air Group AOCs, and Group Safety SCA concerning training and/or flight safety-related technical matters.
Requirements:
- University degree, preferably Aerospace, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (minimum - BSc).
- 3 years of relevant work experience.
- Fluent English knowledge.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.
- A320/A321 Gen.Fam. (CEO & NEO) training is an advantage.
- Contracted MRO JPM Training is an advantage.
- FTS, SMS, HF, Operated A/C Configuration is an advantage.
- Thorough knowledge of 145 and Part M CAMO is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of MS Office tools is a plus.
