Senior Mechanical Engineer

You will provide mechanical engineering services to Worley' and its Customers', including technical support within the mechanical engineering team as described below:
You'll be:
- Deliver mechanical engineering services that meet Worley', its Customers' and applicable statutory and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget.
- Initiate and manage mechanical engineering project requirements.
- Manage and perform mechanical engineering services such as:
- participate in relevant meetings, prepare progress reports, and comply with required checking procedures.
- ensure the project scope is clear and that changes comply with project change management processes.
- provide assistance and advice during procurement, construction and commissioning activities.
- prepare detailed design documents, specifications, data sheets, calculations and reports.
- write requisitions, conduct technical bid evaluations and write purchase orders, including equipment follow-up on technical aspects.
- Participate in the development of mechanical engineering man-hours estimates.
- Monitor the man-hour budget, staffing plan, and schedule to ensure that project objectives are met, and execution is within the approved mechanical man-hours budget.
- Ensure all engineering and design work performed adheres to quality, cost and schedule requirements.
- Ensure all design work is safe and carried out in a safe manner and that all design work conforms to the design codes and standards used by the Customers’, or to agreed industry standards.
- Communicate effectively with and within the mechanical engineering team and project stakeholders, including the Customer.
- Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required.
- Establish and maintain proper interface with Customers’ representatives throughout the life of the project.
You'll have:
Technical and Industry Experience:
- Highly effective technical and practical engineering skills and ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to Worley and its Customers'.
- Excellent knowledge of the fundamental requirements of the mechanical engineering, and the basic requirements of other engineering fields such as piping, electrical, instrumentation and civil.
- Excellent knowledge of heat transfer equipment, pressure vessels, columns, storage tanks, etc..
- Familiar with rotating equipment and package units (experience in solids and/or material handling is a plus).
- Knowledge of European Directives such as PED, among others.
- Competent use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite and mechanical engineering specific software.
- Experience in petrochemical, fine chemicals.
- Experience in quality control requirements, equipment inspection, workshop performance testing of equipment and packages.
- Sound knowledge of design Codes such as: ASME Section VIII Div. 1, ISO 5199, API 610, API 650, TEMA, ISO 13709, etc...
- Substantial technical and practical experience in mechanical engineering in the same or similar industry, including experience in working in multi-disciplinary projects and teams.
- Familiar with the various project phases and the scope/deliverables required for each phase.
Education, Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:
- Job specific knowledge: Minimum 8 years of relevant experience.
- Education: A recognized and relevant mechanical engineering degree.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills (speaking and writing).
- Language skills: Fluent in English, knowledge of the Dutch language is a plus.
- People skills: Strong team player.
Other Essentials:
- Workshare experience.
- Keen safety awareness.
- Able to perform job walks wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) in an operating facility.
