Director of Supplier Quality

The Opportunity:

This position is responsible for leading the supplier quality management team that oversees the development, implementation, and management of the ADB Safegate suppliers’ quality strategy in line with the Quality Management System and the Strategic Supply Chain initiatives to ensure that all purchased products meet the company’s needs and expectations. The Director will ensure strong relationships are built and nurtured with our suppliers by recognizing and treating them as partners. This will allow for effective and open communication, a focus on continuous improvement and proactive problem solving, all helping our suppliers to meet the Company’s engineering, quality, and manufacturing specifications ultimately contributing to the success of our customers.

You will make an impact by…

Identifying, planning, directing and implementing a supplier quality vision and strategy for ADB Safegate in partnership with the VP of Strategic Supply Chain;
Developing and implementing quality strategies for best-in-class supplier performance for all purchased supplies, to include 3^rd party vendors and contract manufacturing sites working for, or with ADB Safegate;
Partnering with the Strategic Supply Chain team to execute the supplier development strategy, designing metrics for the function, and supplier performance;
Auditing suppliers and contract manufacturers to ISO-9001 and ADB Safegate requirements;
Assuring all SQM related quality documentation and records are completed thoroughly and timely to maintain compliance;
Managing the root cause analysis and corrective actions process of supplier quality issues, and lead in resolution as appropriate;
Participating in cross-functional teams in the development of new products or changes related to current products in meeting customer requirements;
Leading a global team of Supplier Quality professionals.

The talent we want to inspire has…

Bachelor’s degree with a technical focus (Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with at least ten (10) years of experience working with a manufacturing facility in a quality function of the business;
Proven experience in process improvements and projects;
International project/process experience in quality subjects of foreign countries and companies;
Knowledge about quality tools & statistics (8D, PDCA, 5 Why, Ishikawa, FMEA, SPC, CTQ’s, Cpk,…);
Knowledge and experience with APQP & PPAP;
Fluency in English;
Ability to travel approximately 30% domestically and internationally for visits to customers, suppliers, and other ADB Safegate Facilities.

This would be a plus but not a must!

Supplier Quality Professional (SCQP), Manager of Quality/Operational Excellence (CMQ/OE), Quality Process Analyst (CQPA), or Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA0) certification preferred;
Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt;
Knowledge or fluency in an additional language (Dutch, French, Chinese, Spanish or German);
Experience with SAP ECC, S4H, or SAP B1;
Airfield or Aviation general know how and terminology.
