What You ‘ll Be Doing:

Participate in the entire aircraft design and development cycle of state-of-the-art fixed-wing small and tactical Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) for defense and security applications, including certification.

Interact with:

• Structural and stability aeronautical engineers to perform trade-off studies concerning weight buildup, planform layout, performance characteristics, etc.;
• CFD analysts, to specify requirements for both low- and high-fidelity analyses and evaluate the results;
• Compile and release aeronautical performance reports throughout all aircraft design phases;
• Analyze the results of flight tests and release the corresponding reports;
• Interface with stakeholders in design reviews, test reports and project meetings.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required:

• Bachelor or MSc in Aeronautical Engineering with emphasis on aerodynamics;
• Background in aircraft design using widely employed methodologies;
• Good knowledge of mechanical drawing rules;
• Hands-on experience with 3D CAD modeling tools;
• Knowledge of aircraft avionics, sensors and subsystems.

Desired:

• Proven working experience on planform layout and aerodynamic performance;
• Understanding of or experience with:
  • CFD techniques and tools;
  • Fixed wing aircraft stability and control;
  • Variable geometry fixed wing UAVs.
• Good knowledge in aircraft avionics, sensors and subsystems;
• Familiarity with safety and airworthiness;
• Knowledge and understanding of product development methodologies, such as the V-model;
• Work experience with SIEMENS NX or DASSAULT CATIA V5.
