What You ‘ll Be Doing:
Participate in the entire aircraft design and development cycle of state-of-the-art fixed-wing small and tactical Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) for defense and security applications, including certification.
Interact with:
- Structural and stability aeronautical engineers to perform trade-off studies concerning weight buildup, planform layout, performance characteristics, etc.;
- CFD analysts, to specify requirements for both low- and high-fidelity analyses and evaluate the results;
- Compile and release aeronautical performance reports throughout all aircraft design phases;
- Analyze the results of flight tests and release the corresponding reports;
- Interface with stakeholders in design reviews, test reports and project meetings.
Qualifications & Experience:
Required:
- Bachelor or MSc in Aeronautical Engineering with emphasis on aerodynamics;
- Background in aircraft design using widely employed methodologies;
- Good knowledge of mechanical drawing rules;
- Hands-on experience with 3D CAD modeling tools;
- Knowledge of aircraft avionics, sensors and subsystems.
Desired:
- Proven working experience on planform layout and aerodynamic performance;
- Understanding of or experience with:
- CFD techniques and tools;
- Fixed wing aircraft stability and control;
- Variable geometry fixed wing UAVs.
- Good knowledge in aircraft avionics, sensors and subsystems;
- Familiarity with safety and airworthiness;
- Knowledge and understanding of product development methodologies, such as the V-model;
- Work experience with SIEMENS NX or DASSAULT CATIA V5.
