What will you do as a Mechanical Design Engineer?

You will become part of the engineering team working on customer-related projects, as a specialist in mechanical design.

Your job will focus on, but is not limited to:

Conceptualising and developing components based on requirements and specifications
Detailing of parts, in CAD drawings with associated BoM (Bill of Materials)
Participating in the iterative process together with the rest of the engineering team to improve components
Optimizing designs through analytical and physical assessments
Supporting the prototyping team in realisation and integration of your designs
Supporting the testing and validation of your designs
Documenting the design details in a structured manner

What do we expect from a Mechanical Design Engineer?

Furthermore, we are looking for someone with:

Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering or similar
Extensive experience with any of the major CAD systems (like Catia, solidworks, Siemens NX)
Ability and a proven track record to transfer abstract ideas into solid designs in a pragmatic way
Ability, willingness and proven track record to work on detailing when necessary
Broad knowledge of different methods of (low-volume) manufacturing; Composites, 3D printing, sheet metal
The ability to work and learn independently
The ability to work in team (a real team player) and willingness to help others which need your expertise even if the tasks do not fall into your direct responsibility
Creative, problem solving mindset
Not afraid to make mistakes and looking to learn from the past
