Job Description

  • Manage the Product team (lead and oversee team activities, support skill development); the team consists of two engineers and one technician (R&D members of the project team, functionally reporting to the Project Manager; the Product Development Technical Manager may also take on an R&D role).
  • Develop, validate, and manage new product developments and improvements (Initiators/Pyrotechnical Safety Switch – Low Energy) based on customer needs while considering QCDSME objectives and constraints.
  • Ensure product design (functionality and robustness) for the assigned product family (Initiators/Pyrotechnical Safety Switch – Low Energy).
  • Act as the R&D representative within the project team and functionally report to the Project Manager.
  • Define technical documents (drawings, qualification reports, FMEA, design guidelines, etc.).
  • Develop validation programs: accelerated aging tests (climatic and mechanical), product functionality testing under customer conditions.
  • Provide active technical support to internal and external customers and various company departments.
  • Maintain supplier relationships and participate in feasibility studies (travel to customers/suppliers possible).
  • Lead and participate in problem-solving groups (8D, technical expertise), and engage in continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Cross-functional and hierarchical management
  • Electrical Engineering:
    • Electrical schematic reading
    • RC, RLC circuit functionality
    • Battery operation
  • Mechanical Engineering:
    • Blueprint reading, ISOGPS
    • Mechanical design

Optional Knowledge

  • Finance:
    • Sales price breakdown analysis
  • Materials & Manufacturing Processes:
    • Plastic injection
    • Stamping
    • Metal forming
  • Measurement & Testing
  • Statistical Analysis Methods

Education/Experience

  • Educational background: Engineering degree in Electrical, Mechatronics (Electrical and/or Electronics and/or Electrotechnics), with strong mechanical knowledge
  • English proficiency (reading, writing, speaking) – TOEIC 750+
  • Experience in team and project management
  • Experience in the automotive industry or high-volume manufacturing
  • Experience in Research & Development
  • Frequent use of English (customers, suppliers, and company entities)
