What you’ll be doing

  • Lead the wireless systems team in our Espoo office;
  • Ensure our products have the right features and technologies to win;
  • Drive Silicon Labs technology strategy and long-term roadmap;
  • Work closely with the Business Unit Marketing teams (Home and Life, Industrial and Commercial) to prioritize Systems team R&D projects;
  • Develop and improve systems team processes;
  • Collaborate with other company functions such as design engineering, marketing, applications, and Sales.

Minimum Qualifications – technical skills

  • BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent with 10+ years of industry experience;
  • 3+ years of experience as an engineering manager or engineering team lead;
  • Professional working experience with embedded solutions, protocols and products, preferably related to Bluetooth, SubGHz, Thread/Zigbee, and/or Wi-Fi;
  • Strong knowledge of embedded systems, microcontrollers, and semiconductors;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Must be comfortable explaining technical concepts to a wide range of audiences, including senior engineering leaders;
  • Experience using lab equipment: oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power supplies, power analyzers, etc.

Soft skills

  • Flexibility to synchronize with team members located on different global time zones;
  • Detailed understanding and hands-on experience in software development lifecycle and methodologies, including traditional Agile and waterfall methods;
  • Experience in use of modern project management tools (Confluence, Jira, Portfolio Manager, MS Project, etc.);
  • Experience leading the interviewing and hiring of new full-time engineers;
  • Experience working within a global organization;
  • Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams in different locations.

Advantageous Qualifications

  • Experience working at a semiconductor company;
  • Basic understanding of hardware IP architecture, development and verification;
  • Radio firmware experience at the PHY/MAC layers;
  • Experience in Bluetooth Low Energy Audio;
  • Additional knowledge of some IoT or other communication protocol stacks like Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, TCP/IP, or Wi-Sun;
  • Experience with one or more RTOS – Free RTOS, uc/OS, Zephyr preferred;
  • Experience managing team of experienced engineers.
