You will play a key role in designing Active and Passive Safety products, like body computers, zone controllers and ECUs for biggest OEMs in the automotive market.

Your role:

  • Leading design development from concept phase into serial production;
  • Analyzing customer requirements and assumptions of the concept group;
  • Creating and supervising the mechanical part of DFMEA;
  • Defining and verifying components in a product and creating appropriate tolerance chains;
  • Defining special characteristics in the product;
  • Supporting the creation and approving of technical documentation (CAD model and technical drawings);
  • Creating BOMs (Bill of Materials);
  • Participation in the Part and Product Approval (PPAP) process;
  • Cooperation with other competencies like Systems, Electrical, Validation, Manufacturing or Quality Engineers;
  • Communicating with customers and suppliers worldwide.

Your background:

  • University degree (mechanics, mechatronics, automatics and robotics or related);
  • At least 5 years experience in R&D or similar position;
  • Experience in designing mechanical parts, mainly plastic, metal casting and sheet metal;
  • Knowledge of dimensioning incorporating GD&T approach;
  • Knowledge of the DFMEA, SPC, KPC and PPAP process;
  • Very good knowledge of English language (written and spoken);
  • Communication skills;
  • Willingness to travel short business trips.

Nice to have:

  • Experience in automotive industry;
  • Experience in cooperation with a production plant (serial production);
  • Experience in cooperation with suppliers and workshops;
  • Knowledge of ASPICE methodology;
  • Good knowledge of German language (B2 or higher);
  • Knowledge of CAD software (NX).
