Job Description
Reporting to the Head of Global Operations Engineering, this position is responsible for overseeing the overall management of all facilities and utilities (F&U) across multiple sites globally. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in the design and operation of manufacturing facilities and all associated infrastructure and utilities within a GMP environment. This position will also drive the energy and water strategies at the manufacturing sites to deliver Best in Class resource efficiencies and sustainability. The successful candidate will lead the Communities of Practice, identifying and aligning on Best Practice to improve and maintain the Galderma Standards and practices in order to achieve Top Quartile performance..
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies;
- Develop and implement comprehensive Global Standards and practices relating to F&U systems design and operation to ensure optimal performance (including energy and resource efficiency) and their compliance with industry standards and regulations;
- Own and maintain the Global F&U Standards and practices and ensure harmonization and consistency Galderma sites worldwide;
- Lead and manage the Global Communities of Practice providing guidance in relation to the adoption of Global Standards and practices and their training, providing support as necessary;
- In collaboration with Maintenance and Reliability colleagues, support the drive to optimize planned maintenance and eliminate unplanned maintenance of F&U systems;
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the performance and reliability of F&U systems at each site and ensure manufacturing schedule adherence and OEE;
- Embed the principles of Sustainable Engineering as it relates to energy and natural resources. Through the process of site assessments and screening of the available technologies, identify opportunities to reduce the environmental impact of our operations and drive their adoption and implementation;
- Develop and implement a global facilities management strategy, ensuring consistency and adherence to best practices across all sites. Identify value capture opportunities without compromising safety, quality or regulatory compliance;
- Benchmark cost of F&U operations and practices across our sites. Identify opportunities for improvement and support sites to deliver these;
- Lead the development of Plant Engineering functions’ talent geared toward succession planning and career coaching/mentoring;
- Educate and contribute to Organizational upskilling by developing training plans for staff to ensure adequate training of all new and existing employees to maximum performance;
- Ensure effective interdepartmental relationships to meet the assigned goals of the organization
Skills & Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in Facilities and Utilities Engineering and Facilities Management within a manufacturing or operational environment (variety of products/size of facilities);
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field required. Master’s Degree preferred;
- Proven ability to set strategy, execute results, lead teams, build relationships, and influence across a global organization;
- Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams;
- Demonstrated ability to build/lead global teams and establish credibility and rapport in a highly matrixed environment;
- Experience of working within a multi-stakeholder environment where competing needs must be managed effectively to deliver results;
- Extensive knowledge of Facilities and Utilities processes, industry standards, and regulatory requirements;
- Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and innovation in facility and utility operations;
- Experience in managing operations at scale, with a high degree of sound, independent judgment.
