As an Electrical Safety Engineer, your primary focus will be on LVDC breakers/bypass systems, in Autoliv we name them Pyrotechnical Safety Switches (PSS). As part of a newly created team based in Vårgårda, you will work on LVDC applications that protect systems producing, storing, and converting electricity. The main application area is light vehicle industry. You and your colleagues will be responsible for designing advanced breakers and shutters that protect other equipment in the system. Given the need for rapid closing or opening of electrical circuits, our pyrotechnical solution is key. You will lead the electrical part of the design and development of these breakers/bypass systems, ensuring their safety, reliability, and compliance with industry standards from an electrical perspective.
By leveraging your expertise in LVDC systems, you will help the team in developing innovative solutions and ensuring compliance with light vehicle industry standards. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to enhance product performance and drive technological innovation. You will be expected to use your understanding of electrical arcing to ensure the safe and reliable design of low voltage circuit breakers. This includes analyzing arcing behavior and developing technical solutions that mitigate its effects on system reliability and performance.
We are looking for our next colleague who would like to work with innovative products within electrical safety solutions. To be successful in this position we see that you have a technical education B.Sc or M.Sc, preferably in Electrical Engineering or Power Electronics, and have a strong foundation in low voltage direct current applications, including circuit breaker. You have extensive experience in electrical engineering and innovative product development, with a deep understanding of electrical arcing phenomena and its effects on system design.
A proven track record of delivering cutting-edge engineering solutions is essential, alongside excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. You are comfortable with communicating technical details and guiding teams with your expertise.
