As an Electrical Engineer, you must have solid experience in electrical systems and layout design. Will be capable of developing design documents, including single lines, load lists, and equipment data sheets, that incorporate the applicable design. In addition, it will be required that the candidate have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), promoting our leadership, quality, and safety values, to external partners including vendors, construction companies, and other subcontractors.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Performs Electrical Systems engineering activities, which may include the use of ETAP.
  • Individual must have extensive understanding of all engineering discipline drawings and electrical discipline wiring diagrams, control logic diagrams, system descriptions, system calculations, 1-line and 3-line drawings, schematics, and be able to size equipment and perform cable sizing calculations.
  • Works under the direction of Engineering Group Supervisor.
  • Performs special tasks, calculations/studies and user guides.
  • Responsible to produce basic and higher-tier drawings and documentation in accordance with established conceptual design and scope.
  • Conducts checking as required.
  • Properly interprets and applies codes & standards and customer design requirements, for the preparation of electrical design documents, specifications, material requisitions and system descriptions related to design tasks.
  • Must be a self-starter and capable of independent creative design, with direction, using Bechtel and industry proven concepts, and procedures.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate and work well with others and within a team.
  • Must be able to work well with other disciplines.
  • Must know how to use computer programs such as the Microsoft WINDOWS suite of programs.
  • Ability to cope with conflicting deadline, frequent interruptions and multiple tasks.
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities with emphasis on continuous improvement and team building, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and interpret local/Polish norms and European codes and standards.
  • Provide additional support to team in the United States with power system design and raceway design in Poland.
  • Provide additional support and training to team in the United States with understanding local/Polish norms and European codes and standards to support design.
  • Ability to coordinate with Polish sub-contractor and review sub-contractor deliverables to support Electrical design.
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with a team and providing support as needed.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or college with 9 years of related electrical engineering experience.
  • Must be authorized to live and work in country without sponsorship. 
  • Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Professional Engineering License (Electrical).
  • Experience in working with procedures meeting quality assurance programs such as ASME-NQA-1, MIL-Q-9858A, or ISO-9000.
  • Knowledge of industry and regulatory guides, norms, codes, and standards.
  • Hands-on Microsoft office programs and other computer programs.
  • Extensive knowledge application of local/Polish norms and European codes and standards.
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, schematics, and electrical equipment layouts.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, systems calculations, equipment sizing and cable sizing.
  • Extensive knowledge with low and medium voltage building design and raceway design (cable tray and underground electrical distribution) and installation in Poland.
  • Knowledge in design to support a power plant in Poland (example: coal power plants).
  • Previous hands-on or extensive working knowledge with ETAP and other industry-wide electrical system design tools, such as CAD 2D, cable designing and routing software.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with telecommunication system design in Poland.
  • Experience with heat tracing requirements and design in Poland.
  • Experience with fire detection systems design requirements in Poland.
  • Experience with the electrical permitting and building requirements in Poland.
  • Experience with cathodic protection requirements and design in Poland.
  • Experience in construction interface and resolving field problems.
