Lead Engineer - Power Electronics

The Lead Engineer will create emerging power conversion & power system solutions based on breakthrough technologies for industrial, automotive, truck, and aerospace applications. The team works on state-of-the-art electronics and identifies and develops commercialization opportunities with diverse Eaton businesses.

Main responsibilities:

Lead power electronics research, design and development activities at TRL1-5
Demonstrate ownership for the assigned projects and task
Perform modeling, simulation, PE and PCB design and validation of electronics circuits
Collect and analyze data to optimize designs to meet performance, size, manufacturability, reliability or costs targets
Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, and firmware engineers to successfully design and validate the design
Create technical reports and presentations for both internal and external stakeholders
Support team and work with external contributors (business divisions, universities and customers)
Develop test cell facilities and related hardware

We would like you to bring:

Msc. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Minimum 5 years of experience in R&D - power electronics and electronics design (DC/DC converters)
Modeling and simulation (Matlab, Plecs, Altium, Eagle, Spice)
Strong understanding of circuit theory, containing power electronics (solid state circuit breaking)
Experience in designing cutting-edge electronics (SiC, GaN (silicone-carbide, gallium nitride)
Ability to demonstrate problem solving using logic and methods to tackle diverse problems
