YOUR ROLE: Senior Electrical Engineer/Hardware Developer

You will join our outstanding engineering team to build the next generation of non-invasive (magnetic) brain stimulation medical devices. You are passionate about electrical engineering, have worked with (radiofrequency) high-power designs, and are used to rapid prototyping cycles. For that, it is essential to co-locate with the team in Vienna, Austria frequently for efficient collaboration – but we value performance and value-creation over face time.

WHAT YOU WILL DO: Build Brain stimulation headsets for at-home use

  • Design compact high-voltage pulse generators, PCBs, power supplies, and other HW;
  • Collaborate closely with our R&D, EEG, AI, and mechanical engineers & Quality Affairs;
  • Plan & integrate transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) compatible EEG electrode circuits;
  • Design and test prototypes in-house;
  • Develop product for market considering UX and commercial viability;
  • Oversee device testing & certification to be compliant with applicable standards (such as EN 60601-1+2, 62304, 14971, 10993, etc.);
  • Manage electrical lab and test equipment including calibration compliance;
  • Ensure worker’s safety related to electrical hazards.

YOUR PROFILE: Drive & Ownership

Must-haves

  • At least 5+ years of hands-on experience with analog electronics circuits and PCB design;
  • Experience with high voltage (ca. 1kV) and high currents (kA);
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar (degree must be equivalent to electrical engineering master’s degree of an Austrian University);
  • Ability to drive rapid prototyping iterations;
  • Product development experience;
  • CAD tool experience;
  • Solutions-driven personality;
  • Can-do attitude;
  • English proficiency;
  • Relocation to Austria, min. 25% presence in the office.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience designing coils or pulse generators for transcranial magnetic stimulation;
  • Experience with basic safety of medical electrical equipment;
  • Experience with IEC 60601-1 electrical safety testing;
  • Experience with testing platform software (e.g., Python or Labview);
  • Experience with EEG hardware development;
  • Certificate of equivalence for the electrical engineering degree by Austrian authorities;
  • Work permit for Austria.
