Business Unit Decanter looking for a Mechanical Project Engineer to drive the technical aspects of our customer projects, a candidate who is fueled by a passion for engineering. We supply equipment and systems to various industries including, food, wastewater, mining, oil, chemicals, etc. Our projects evolve around the decanter product line and the scope complexity varies from being simply decanters with automation systems to sophisticated process systems. The mechanical project engineer will be responsible for the system engineering and will be involved in all project phases. You will be part of a project team and, together with the project manager, will be responsible for delivering the scope on time and within budget.

Key tasks and responsibilities

  • Develop drawings and designs using AutoCAD, Vault and Inventor;
  • Develop project-specific drawings including P&IDs, process flow diagrams, arrangement drawings, detailed drawings, 3D models and fabrication drawings;
  • Specify and select components to be used in the projects;
  • Assist the procurement department with sourcing the correct components;
  • Creating and maintaining parts numbers;
  • Develop project documentation including procedures, datasheets test records etc.;
  • Maintain records of submitted documentation, ensuring the customer transmittal procedure is respected;
  • Review technical specifications from customers and develop technical deviation lists;
  • Ensure the document control system is maintained and internal approval workflow is followed;
  • Ensure that the quality management system is followed;
  • Driving standardization/modularization of process sections and equipment modules;
  • Conducting FAT of decanters and process modules.

What you know

You have a degree in mechanical engineering and experience in the process industry. It is an advantage but not a requirement if you also have a background as an industrial technician, blacksmith or other metal craftsman. We seek a candidate with experience in fluid or separation systems, ideally within the food, wastewater, or related industry. A strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Engineering Practices (GEP), CE and ATEX is essential, along with familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations, such as ISO, ASME, and sanitary guidelines.
