For this position we see a strong focus on identifying and securing opportunities for our chemical consulting business, both in Poland and broadly in Europe. We regard the Candidate’s ability to lead and execute consulting work as a significant added value.
The Team: As an Associate Director, being part of our Chemicals consulting business is to convert his or her experience, knowledge, insights and analysis along with S&P’s knowledge base into sustainable, profitable S&P bespoke consulting services. Marketing S&P’s expertise and himself/herself as an expert with professionalism are essential to this role
Impact and Responsibilities:
This role plays a pivotal role in advancing our consulting/advisory business in Europe through the provision of bespoke consulting services that includes the development of winning proposals and management of consulting projects, as well as delivery of engagements to clients.
- Develop bespoke chemical consulting business in Poland, East Europe, West Europe.
- Pursue new leads generated from various channels and turn them into consulting engagements.
- Prepare high-quality single-client proposals. This requires clear written and verbal communication skills and analytical creativity to determine deliverables that best serve client needs and budget, and maximize the service which S&P can provide.
- Manage the full chain from client relationship building, opportunity identification, proposal development, the closing of sale, and the delivery of work.
- Lead or support consulting engagements such as market studies, feasibility studies, competitiveness analysis, strategic planning, and due diligence review.
- Maintain general knowledge of various chemical sectors (petrochemicals including olefins, aromatics, plastics, chlor-alkali; fertilizers, specialty chemicals, end users, and renewables) for interaction with clients.
What We are Looking For:
- Ten years+ of consulting experience, ideally with a major international chemical consulting firm, professional firm or association, or equivalent years in a business planning, business development, Marketing and sales, and/or strategy development position within the chemical industry.
- Proven experience in managing large and complex studies.
- Good knowledge of the chemical players and industry in Poland and/or Europe. Some prior relationship with key decision makers and stakeholders of the industry a plus.
- Knowledge of various chemicals and relevant technologies would be preferred.
- Ability to travel as required in Poland and within Europe. Travel requirements will vary depending on client situations.
- Must be able to work with a high degree of independence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree equivalent or above. Chemical Engineering or Chemistry Bachelor’s Degree would be preferred. MBA would be a plus.
- Fluent English Language speaker. German, Russian, or other European language skills a distinct advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
