Your role & mission

Participate in the development of new products and the standardisation of existing products in its area of activity, in accordance with the development roadmap, standards and directives, and with particular attention to the product's industrialisation and maintenance capacity.

Your main responsibilities

Participate in the program development process:

  • Gathering feedback on the area of activity in order to identify any deviations from the nominal operation of the installation and generating Non-Conformities and/or Change Sheets as a result;
  • Carrying out technical feasibility studies to guide and support preliminary project studies;
  • Being able to lead a multi-disciplinary team in resolving bottlenecks;
  • Participating in the optimization of development-related issues: analyzing the impact of modifications, steering multi-disciplinary projects, etc.;
  • Carrying out a technology watch in order to identify opportunities for technological innovation, in particular through various meetings with suppliers and hydrogen-related players.

Design the product in accordance with the defined specifications:

  • Being able to propose innovative solutions and designing gas plates from A to Z;
  • Anticipating the bottlenecks faced by the various teams (required safety levels, space requirements, types of technology recommended);
  • Proposing a design up to and including the tests required to qualify it;
  • Co-leading safety studies with the MRI department (HAZID, HAZOP).

Provide internal/external technical support for process activities:

  • Providing technical support to suppliers of critical equipment (high cost and/or long lead times) in order to keep to schedule;
  • Representing the business area in front of customers/authorities and being able to answer questions;
  • Training and supporting the engineering team;
  • Being able to estimate the duration of each task in the business area and its difficulties, and reporting the associated technical risks;
  • Managing technical subcontracting: draw up the technical specifications for the requirements relating to your area of activity and approve the technical proposals.

Your Profile

Education:

  • Engineering degree (or equivalent BAC+5) in Process Engineering or Chemical Engineering;
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in processes in an industrial environment;
  • Extensive engineering experience;
  • Mastery of gas processes and cooling systems;
  • Mastery of product development and standardisation processes;
  • Safety studies: HAZID, HAZOP;
  • Knowledge of standards, directives and regulations relating to the field of activity;
  • Skills in thermal calculations (energy balance) and fluid calculations (sizing pressure drops, heat exchangers, pumps);
  • Knowledge of the specific risks associated with the field of activity: ATEX and Pressure;
  • Proficiency in computer and drawing tools (Pack Office);
  • Proficiency in process simulation software (Aspen Hysis, Pro II, ProSim, etc.);
  • Fluency in English, with knowledge of Italian and/or German a plus;
  • Very strong safety culture;
  • Activity planning tools;
  • Ability to accurately estimate workload and remaining work to be done in order to monitor schedules.
