Description

We are currently looking for an ingenious Electronics Engineer to join our BMS Hardware Development team within the R&D department. As an Electronic Engineer you will have the exciting opportunity of working in a group that develops state of the art solutions to improve existing or deliver new Lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery products. The role revolves around the design and industrialization of all electronic circuitry associated with a modern Li-ion battery and/or an Energy Storage System (ESS). Indicative day-to-day tasks include, but are not restricted to, the design, simulating, prototyping, testing and debugging of Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBA). This role will provide the right candidate with excellent growth potential.

Key activities and responsibilities of this role includes:

  • Deciphering system requirements.
  • Hardware Architecture design.
  • Schematic capture and PCB layout design.
  • Component selection.
  • Prototype bring-up, testing and debugging.
  • Execute component and system-level simulations.
  • Safeguard compliance to IEC/UL standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Produce and maintain documentation per product and technology type.
  • Collaborate in a team environment across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Contributing to the improvement of current and development of next-generation Sunlight battery storage systems.

Requirements

  • University’s Degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering or relevant.
  • At least 2 years of experience as an Electronics Engineer, Embedded Hardware Engineer or similar role in the industry.
  • Experience with Switching-Mode Power Supplies (SMPS) (e.g. DC-DC converters).
  • Experience with Embedded Hardware design.
  • Experience with Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools (e.g. Altium).
  • Experience with circuit simulation tools (e.g. LTSpice, PSpice etc).
  • Proficient use of standard electronics lab equipment (Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, Electronic Loads etc.).Proficient use of standard electronics lab equipment (Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Electronic Loads etc.).
  • Familiarity with design principles for EMI/EMC/ESD compliance.
  • Experience in laboratory hands-on tasks including soldering, test-setup creation, and prototype Hardware testing/design verification.
  • EU permit and fulfilled military obligations – where applicable.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with BMS (Battery Management Systems) development.
  • Experience with Functional Safety standards (e.g. ISO 13849)
  • Experience with Electrical Product Safety standards (e.g. UL 60950-1 / 62368-1)
