The Role:

General Description includes basic electrical design and analysis of assigned deliverables in a project including specific complex deliverables such as power generation systems, substation & power distribution systems and lighting & grounding systems. Work includes, among other things, conceptual studies, cost and planning studies, layouts, voltage drop calculations, specification development and electrical one-line diagrams. Maintains and promotes a focus on DORIS’ end product whether engineering, fabrication or construction. Ensures effective communications among other engineering disciplines. Ensures effective management of change. Assumes responsibility for cost, schedule, and quantity and budget control.

Scope of Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Produces consumer lists from available lists from available equipment data under supervision of a Senior Electrical Engineer;
  • Is able to make sizing calculations of electrical equipment and components;
  • Is able to prepare electrical specifications for materials and simple equipment;
  • Is able to contribute to offshore and onshore integration of renewable energy;
  • Experience with any of the following power system tools will be desirable: PSSE, ETAP, DigSILENT etc.;
  • Carry out power system studies – Load Flow analysis, Short Circuit, Protection Coordination, Voltage Stability etc.;
  • Good understanding of power system modelling and analysis;
  • Working knowledge of Transmission & distribution networks (from Low Voltage to Extra High voltage);
  • Analyse equipment data, prepare calculations, and single line drawings;
  • Must be able, under supervision, to determine the detailed aspects of an electrical distribution system;
  • Prepares area classification documents with guidance of a Senior Engineer;
  • Shows flexibility and ensures proper hand-over with regards to:
    • The reassignment to other departments;
    • The replacement of colleagues during illness and holidays;
    • The provision of assistance to other colleagues with heavy workload (also other projects) when possible/desirable;
    • The managing/learning of current/future working methods and software applications.
  • Works according to company/project standards, procedures and specifications.

  • Contribute towards compliance with the Safety Case and all subsidiary SHEQ documents;
  • Leading by example to maintain a strong SHEQ culture through visible safety leadership;
  • Ensuring sufficient capability and competence of third part suppliers and staff to deliver operations management;
  • Ensure the implementation of adequate Health, Safety and Environmental work practices, procedures and methods to meet all statutory requirements and the Company SHEQ Management System.

Qualifications:

  • Engineering Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
