Product Design Senior Manager

We are seeking a passionate Product Design Senior Manager with expertise in power semiconductors to come on board onsemi’s Automotive Power Division design team and be part of our quest to be the global Intelligent Power solutions leader.

Responsibilities

You will have technical ownership and leadership to design, develop, qualify and release power modules, primarily for automotive EV traction applications. You will have engineering product ownership, with the need for implementing feasible designs, assessing technical risk and making sound engineering judgement;
You will drive a team of cross-functional engineers who are globally located to implement rugged designs that are highly reliable and yet cost competitive. You will work with extended quality, R&D and manufacturing organizations to ensure the highest degree of quality and adherence to quality processes;
You will partner engineering teams to drive product level DFQM, DFMEA and PFMEA;
You will work with leading customers to resolve technical challenges and ensure successful design-in execution. This requires frequent travel within Germany;
You are required to frequently engage internal and external stakeholders to communicate project status.

Qualifications

Minimum bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electronics Engineering, Physics or related technical field. Master’s degree or PhD in a relevant field of work is highly desirable;
At least 15 years of experience in power semiconductors and power electronics, with at least 5 years’ experience in Automotive EV, and strong preference for candidates with power module design experience for EV traction inverters;
Proficient in power module design, manufacturing and applications;
Decisive, strong technical leadership and self-driven to resolve tough engineering challenges;
Communication fluency in English is a must, Proficiency in German is an added advantage;
This is a director level technical managerial role in the power semiconductor marketspace. The final job grade will depend on the candidate’s actual relevant job experience and educational background.
