Senior Plastic Material Engineer

A REGULAR DAY AT WORK

In this position you will work on new technologies and materials used for our food preservation appliances focusing on plastic components production (extrusion, vacuum forming, injection moulding), cost reduction as well as qualification of new materials and suppliers.

You will have a lot of interactions both internally and externally, including: Manufacturing Engineering, Process Laboratory, Model Workshop, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing and Global Connectivity &Technology laboratory.

Your duties will include:

Support Purchasing strategy through activities with suppliers of plastic raw materials;
Support PTO laboratory in evaluating new liner materials;
Lead projects to develop new materials or new transformation technologies;
Support the model workshop in the production of prototypes using new liner grades;
Arrange, with process laboratories of plants, industrial trials to qualify new materials and new suppliers;
Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering in the validation and implementation of new technologies for the production of plastic components;
Collaborate with Product Care and Quality within projects of cost reduction and quality improvement.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

University degree in Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or Material Science;
Knowledge of thermoplastic polymers;
5-year experience of at least one among the most used transformation technologies (extrusion, vacuum forming and injection moulding;
Good knowledge of English language (ability to discuss technical subjects).
