About the role

At Sybilla Technologies, a rapidly growing company in the space industry, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Sensor Deployment and Data Delivery Officer. As we continue to expand, this role will be crucial in leading our transition from R&D to full-scale product and one place for optical data company. You will oversee the efficient deployment and operation of sensor networks for us and our customers, ensure high volume, quality data delivery, and drive organizational growth. Your responsibilities

  • Ensure efficient and effective sensor deployment, operation, data delivery, customer support and success;
  • Maintain high quality and quantity of data delivered;
  • Manage organizational change and scaling as the company transitions from R&D to product and 24/7 operational sensor networks;
  • Establish and oversee supply processes, including procurement, quality assurance, and best practices for data delivery and sensor assembly;
  • Responsible for company revenue and EBITDA within your area;
  • Negotiate and purchase data, sensor time, components, and site services;
  • Optimize supplier relations;
  • Develop and execute an annual resource plan for sensor deployment and data delivery;
  • Create short- and long-term development plans for the sensor network and data delivery;
  • Ensure customer satisfaction;
  • Recruit and maintain high-quality customer success, technical, and administrative staff;
  • Manage relations with sensor hosting sites;
  • Ensure efficient scheduling of sensors for data delivery;
  • Set division goals, priorities, and strategies in consultation with other division leaders;
  • Report performance and development to the CEO and Leadership Team;
  • Lead sensor technology design, development, and testing to meet customers’ needs;
  • Oversee data collection, processing, and analysis, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery;
  • Manage sensor development projects, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are met;
  • Implement improvements in sensor technology, data processing, and delivery methods;
  • Provide technical guidance to internal teams and external partners;
  • Ensure all sensor systems and data comply with industry standards and regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or STEM;
  • At least 10 years of management and leadership experience in an operational environment. Data or system delivery (software and hardware) preferred;
  • Proven experience in managing complex organizational change;
  • Strong collaboration skills with partner teams and institutions on joint projects;
  • Experienced in budgeting and staff management, in coordination with finance, HR, and culture departments;
  • Strategic thinker with decision-making abilities;
  • Skilled in using structured processes and tools;
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities;
  • Able to set and adjust goals to align with the company’s vision and adapt to changes;
  • Politically aware and able to manage stakeholder relationships;
  • Demonstrates initiative, proactiveness, and negotiation skills;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Fluent in English (both written and spoken). C1 or higher.

Nice to have

  • Experience with optical observatories or sensor network operations;
  • Experience in space industry or interest in technology, space-related topics;
  • Observational and technical experience in astronomy and/or astronomical instrumentation would be an asset;
  • PhD in engineering, astrophysics, physics, or other fields related to the job.

Terms of employment

  • Employment will be delivered in a remote or hybrid model (main office in Bydgoszcz, Poland);
  • Ability to travel to remote sites (on a need basis) and to headquarters (once per quarter);
  • B2B salary at the level of 7,000-8,500 euros, depending on the experience and skill, along with an ESOP equity package;
  • The candidate will have a specialist assigned as mentor during initial weeks of employment;
