As a senior designer, you will be responsible for performing mechanical engineering tasks (piping/mechanical) in accordance with the requirements set by the piping/mechanical lead. Ultimately, you will complete a design (consisting of drawings, calculations and technical specifications) for the next phase of a project. In doing so, you will work closely with colleagues from your own and other disciplines to achieve the best possible implementation of these projects. You will contribute to the set-up and design of things like process diagrams and 3D layouts (piping, equipment and engineering) for process and production installations. You will also create work descriptions and specifications for implementation.
Your activities as a designer will range from creating conceptual studies to participating in drafting detailed engineering packages. For that purpose, you will design installation drawings, piping plans and isometric projections, and produce piping and equipment specifications. You will use modern computer software for these tasks, including 3D modelling of installations. In addition to your technical efforts on projects, intensive communication with your colleagues and clients is an essential aspect of your work.
You have at least a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from a university of applied sciences (A1 level in Belgium) and 5-10 years of relevant engineering experience.
You have a strong drive to achieve results at a detailed level, while maintaining a broad overview of your work. You agree that quality and planning are prerequisites for successful projects. You are also flexible, and think and work in a client- and results-oriented way. You are able to overcome the many different technical challenges that arise with our clients. You are also open to the possibility of performing your work tasks on location and/or at a client’s site, or perhaps taking assignments abroad. You speak fluent Dutch and you have good skills of English and French.
