Our fifth vessel, an 85 meter Super Yacht is well progressed with exciting world class projects approaching, we seek a proactive, motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer|Marine Engineer, with multidisciplinary marine experience, positive outlook, and leadership skills.

The role shall include hands on engineering design, project engineering, leadership, and liaison with the other design and production teams.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assuming the engineering lead role on a sistership under construction;
  • Change management of mechanical equipment and systems;
  • Engineering design from concept through to sea trails;
  • Preparation, review, submission and management of regulatory requirements;
  • Design and specification of mechanical systems and equipment;
  • Generation of technical scopes of supply for procurement;
  • Generation and coordination of design packages for sub contract such as shaft line arrangements, machinery foundations, exhaust systems, cranes and lifting equipment, anchoring and mooring, steering gear and hydraulics;
  • Design and drafting of engineering piping schematics;
  • Review of mechanical and piping arrangements in 2D and 3D;
  • Regular interaction with production, design teams and management;
  • Liaison with the Project team for estimation, planning and sequencing of engineering aspects of new builds, sister ships, and refits;
  • Monitoring progress of assigned tasks to ensure timely completion of project deliverables;
  • Independent review of others’ calculations, plans and submissions;
  • Willingness and ability to be actively involved in frequent on-board discussions and reviews.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar capacity;
  • Engineering Degree, Graduate Diploma or similar qualifications;
  • Effective organisational and planning skills;
  • An excellent communicator, ability to work stand alone, and to lead teams on a project basis;
  • Experience in dealing with third party consultants, and regulatory bodies;
  • Relevant LR, DNV, IMO, Cayman Islands and Marshall Islands codes experience;
  • Design of aluminium vessels and/or motor yachts over 500 GT highly regarded;
  • On board ship/yacht experience in an engineering role highly regarded;
  • High degree of computer literacy, specifically Microsoft Office suite;
  • 3D CAD modelling, visualisation and/or review skills, PTC Creo or similar highly regarded;
  • 2D CAD skills, AutoCAD or similar highly regarded;
  • PLM experience: PTC Windchill, Siemens Teamcenter, or similar highly regarded.
