Role Summary:

As a Subsea Trees Mechanical Engineer you will support requisition projects, and/or NPI/Product Structuring programs in alignment with Product Leader and Project Engineering Manager advices. You will take part to the whole design cycle of subsea items, from concept development and 3D CAD modeling in CREO/IPEM environment, to issue of drawings and preparation/management of bills of materials (BOM’s) in ePIMS and Teamcenter database, including technical documents.

Essential Responsibilities:

In this position he/she will be required to:

  • Know and commonly deal with main industry standards at the base of subsea systems design (ISO, API, ASME, NACE, DNVGL, NORSOK, EUROCODE);
  • Perform engineering tasks aimed to release product/manufacturing parts, drws and documentation of the assigned scope of work within complex engineering team assigned to fulfill the project scope;
  • Review Engineering/Customer's specifications and applicable standards, identifying design requirements;
  • Interact with Analysis and Materials representatives in order to validate the design of the items been part of the assigned work scope;
  • Create 3D CAD models in CREO/IPEM environment;
  • Create/review fabrication/machining drawings in CREO/IPEM and part data management system (Teamcenter), following industry/company drafting standards and guidelines;
  • Create/review BOM’s in part data management system (Teamcenter); contribute to issue of project technical documents (FAT/eFAT/SIT procedures, user manuals, mobilization/demobilization procedures, assembly procedures, field service manuals,…); ensure all engineering documents are correctly archived and in line with applicable engineering quality procedures/practices;
  • Prepare documentation to support design reviews (presentations and layout drws), including materials, manufacturing and product safety/environmental reviews;
  • Participate in lessons learned meetings to drive improvements in product quality;
  • Support Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Sourcing (DFS) culture coordinating with discipline organization in the realization of optimized product safety, quality, efficiency
  • Comply with all department initiatives to meet performance metrics requirements (On-Time-Delivery, quality targets, Yield, etc.)
  • Ensure equipment is designed in accordance with current Environmental, Health & Safety legislation/regulations and main industry standards.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Assist other Engineers and Managers as required;

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree (5 years) in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent), or above;
  • Proven years experience as mechanical design engineer;
  • Knowledge of geometric and dimensional tolerancing (GD&T), drafting practices and main manufacturing technologies;
  • Proven knowledge of CAD tool CREO(PRO-E) and IPEM/TC database;
  • Knowledge of main subsea industry standards (ISO, API, ASME, NACE, DnV, NORSOK, EUROCODE);
  • Ability to work independently and comfortably in a global multicultural environment;
  • Robust analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Team player attitude and inclusiveness, combined with good communication skills;
  • Proficiency with English (spoken and written);
  • Proactivity and ability to take initiative to resolve issues.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Previous experience within Subsea industry, including installation/off-shore;
  • General knowledge of materials technology adopted within the oil & gas industry
  • Knowledge of manufacturing technologies and processes used for “make” parts and components;
  • Previous Oil & Gas experience.
