Role Summary:

Responsible for the Application Engineering team. The Application Engineering is part of the Front End Engineering unit within LM Engineering organization. The Front End Engineering comprise of initial concept design, aero-acoustics, technical account managers, and application engineering.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Leads the application engineering team to understand the basic present and future needs of existing and new customers and support creative technical deals to deliver on voice of customer;
  • Identify opportunities and launch requests for new technical developments if a business case supports it;
  • The individual must be familiar with rotor design, and process of rotor sizing, conceptual design of turbines, the impact of the blade design on wind turbine design and wind farm BOP and requirements of the wind turbine OEM to deliver expected performance for lowering cost of energy (LCOE). Identify technical offering differentiators and be technical voice of customer to the rest of engineering organization. Ensure lowering development cost of blade to customers’ and the total cost of the product offering;
  • Support the customer with the optimization of their platforms where possible. Leading and managing projects within customer opportunity delivery program; a robust technical roadmap development within Front End Engineering that suffice customers’ development roadmap and expectation of performance and LCoE. (Coordinate and report on customer opportunity delivery activities and manage project pipeline;
  • Monitor COD projects on scope, business case, cost and strategic fit);
  • Deal with dynamic program requirements and stakeholder expectations in a highly competitive environment and gain higher transparency with focus on customer. Boosting attendance to customer technical inquires throughout the development of the blade.Ensure management of application engineering team globally with strong ties with regional engineering teams in Technology center Americas (TCA) and Technology Center India (TCI) of LM Wind Power Engineering;
  • International experience working with leading wind turbine manufacturers; strong in timely delivery of high quality work; good at technology development and customers’ need, international team managing, and outstanding communication skills.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace and/or equivalent knowledge/experience;
  • Major experience in wind industry with know-how of rotor blades and the correlation to wind turbine as a system. Must have experience with wind turbine manufactures with managerial, technical, and strategic positions with substantial responsibilities in customers’ interactions and inquires.
