Function

The Operations Support Manager is responsible for all operational support activities during the tender phase. In addition he may be requested to support the Asset Manager during the project phase and in the initial operations phase of a floating production installation.

The Operations Support Manager is responsible for defining operational requirements in accordance with safety, statutory, client and Bluewater requirements and ensures that these requirements are met in the tender phase. He sets-up and manages the operations tender and tender team. It is important that he establishes the formal and informal lines of communications with the client, local regulatory bodies, subcontractors and suppliers during the tender phase as required.

He estimates (pre-) operations costs and develops operation policies, strategies and defines the pre-operations deliverables. He will review proposed operations and maintenance contracts on its achievability and operational and commercial risk.

He ensures the availability of sufficient information for a potential newly to be established shore base and the supply chain, including logistic support. He will define crew/personnel composition and recruitment schedule for onshore and offshore operations personnel and ensures compliance of personnel with the relevant training matrix.

The Operations Support Manager ensures that the tender fulfills the specified operations requirements. He provides progress reporting to the Tender Manager and, as required, to the Vice Presidents Projects and Floating Production. Also he will provide support to business development activities and if applicable, he can act as Corporate Senior Advisor in own discipline.

To the onshore emergency response organization, he may provide backup assistance as required.

Maintains properly operations historical costs, keeps this information set up to date and advises on potential cost misalignments within the fleet.

Requirements

A great communicator with strong client orientation. You know how to corporate well in a team and you can be persistent when necessary. Planning & organization your talent and you have a good attention for details. Furthermore:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Naval/Mechanical/Process Engineering or Class 1 Master or Class 1 Marine Engineering;
  • Over 5 years of experience with offshore operations;
  • Experience as an OIM or Superintendent or Master Mariner or Chief Engineer;
  • Experience with project & operations management related to offshore oil & gas producing installations, preferable with FPSO’s;
  • English good, verbally as well as in writing;
  • FPSO experience is highly desirable;
  • Computer literacy for MS Office.
