Role overview:

We're looking for a seasoned Mechanical Engineer to join our Stack Development team at Stargate Hydrogen. We have high demands on the quality and reliability of the solutions we offer to our customers, and are looking for a Mechanical Engineer who has experience in design development and product handling over the lifecycle.

You will be part of a team that works on unique green hydrogen solutions and join us in developing our electrolyzer stacks. You'd fit perfectly into this role and our culture if you are naturally curious, enjoy having a laugh from time to time, and are ready to take ownership of your work.

The position is open to hire internationally, and Stargate will assist international candidates with the relocation process.

What does the day-to-day look like in this role?

  • Design and develop alkaline electrolysers and sub-components;
  • Manage the design-to-manufacturing process, ensuring seamless transition from design to production;
  • Perform technical discussions within the team and with external partners; adapt our next generation product design accordingly;
  • Support and guide production team;
  • Take part in risk analysis and documentation such as FMEA, HAZOP, etc.;
  • Verify compliance with requirements and specifications;
  • Defining component specifications for procurement;
  • Working together with external partners.

Must-have qualifications:

  • University degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or Material Science;
  • 5-10 years of experience in mechanical engineering;
  • Excellent knowledge of CAD (preferably with Inventor);
  • Product handling experience (revisions management, etc.);
  • Experience with NPI process;
  • Hands on experience with tooling;
  • Ability to take charge of problems;
  • Teamwork;
  • Great communication skills in English, any other languages are a plus.

Nice-to-have qualifications:

  • Project management skills;
  • Experience in stack development (AEL, PEM, AEM or SOEC/SOFC stacks), or stack components (bipolar plates, gaskets etc., sealing);
  • Knowledge of fluid dynamics and thermodynamics;
  • Ability to make strength calculations.
