The Systems Engineer understands the needs of the automotive customers requirements and evaluate these with stakeholders - e.g. electrical, mechanical, software. After that the Systems Document and the Systems Architecture shall be developed by the Systems Engineer.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluation of customer specifications and classification of stakeholder requirements;
  • Breaking down of system requirements into hardware and software requirements;
  • Development of a system architecture and definition of System interfaces;
  • Support quotation process of lighting products for new business;
  • Observe project progress analyzed by automated statistics;
  • Develop system documentation following system engineering process (V-Model, ASPICE);
  • Lead cross functional technical workshops including requirements review.
  • Maintain project documentation, such as:
    • System test plan;
    • DFMEAs;
    • Functional Safety analyses;
    • Cyber Security analyses;
    • Other documents, as needed;
    • Arrange review meeting to agree and align content and resolve change requests among stakeholder;
    • Support hardware and software engineering in establishing traceability to System Requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechatronics/Electronics Engineering/Physics/Computer Science or equivalent;
  • 5+ years’ experience with Requirement/Systems engineering in the automotive industry or other areas of automotive embedded ECU development and integration (HW, SW, Test);
  • Automotive Background required;
  • Strong communication skills in visualization and verbal explanation;
  • Basic knowledge on requirement engineering process (ASPICE) preferred;
  • Willingness to work independently but also to engage with the development team on a regular basis;
  • Knowledge in hardware, software and mechanical design processes and validation preferred;
  • High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult;
  • Recognizable empathy, with team spirit, and with high level of assertiveness;
  • Knowledge of requirement engineering tools (ex. DOORs NG, Polarion, Codebeamer);
  • Willingness to travel as required; overtime expected including occasional meetings with global teams outside normal workings.
