Product Quality Coordinator

Main purpose of the job/Mission:

The Quality Coordinator, reporting to the PCA Quality Manager, is a key function in improving the product and process quality; he/she doesn't have direct reports but needs to interface with different teams across the organization.

The main target is to reduce the number of claims received collecting and analyzing the data through the claim support system and leading the quality and claims process.

Key tasks:

  • Filter incoming claims and distribute them to the correct Investigating Unit and/or person;
  • Support Sales Company, Operations, Business Centre in accordance with the claim processes and procedure;
  • Monitoring the claim process progress;
  • Coordinate and negotiate compensation agreement and handle financial compensation according to the claim rules and fiscal legislation;
  • Implement and develop the new IT tool to create statistics, reports, follow-up on claims and the targets;
  • Analyze investigation results from a technical and commercial standpoint to provide feedback to the Customer and Sales Company;
  • Follow up on the Corrective Actions;
  • Support and train employees engaged in the Problem Resolution Process for claims;
  • Have expert knowledge of the Problem Resolution Process for claims;
  • Cooperate with local management and Quality & Claim team to improve the local implementation of the process;
  • Cooperate with the central Quality & Claim team in order to align quality processes and approach across Product Groups;
  • Act as contact person for the Problem Resolution Process for claims across both the local and others Alfa Laval organizations;
  • Actively seek feedback and provide recommendations to further improve the process;
  • Drive change in mindset and approach;
  • Support Sales Company and Customers for after sales topics and technical issues;
  • Lead the Claims Review team and Claims Resolution Tool;
  • Proactive in the definition/development of local activities/project oriented to increase the quality and reduce the number of claims;
  • Coordinate the Product Center Quality activities across Alfa Laval organization and local functions;
  • Escalate problems to the management if proper actions are not taken;


  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering;
  • Good knowledge in thermo-fluid dynamics;
  • Good technical knowledge of refrigeration/heating;
  • Electrical/Electronic background is a plus;
  • Italian: fluent;
  • English: good level;
  • Proactive, good communicator, team player, change oriented, problem solver, flexible;
